Family Education Programs

Introduction
The Alzheimer’s Association—Greater Indiana Chapter provides education programs for families who have a member with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. These programs are offered free to family caregivers, but registration is requested to ensure adequate space. A basic education program, “Alzheimer’s Disease—Beginning to Cope,” is offered on a regular basis. The Association also offers specialized education programs on topics related to care giving.

Partnering With Your Doctor - Indianapolis
Partnering With Your Doctor is designed for individuals with memory loss and their caregivers who want to improve how they interact with their doctor. The workshop provides caregivers and people with dementia the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully partner with their physicians and other health care professionals in order to provide the highest-quality dementia care possible

End-of-Life Seminar
Join us on Tuesday October 28, 2008 when nationally recognized speaker, Doug Smith M.Div., M.A., M.S., author of several books on caregiving, grieving, and healing presents Caring and Healing through the End of Life Journey. Topics that will be addressed during the seminar include ethics, styles of grieving, and styles of healing. Registration and a light breakfast begin at 8 a.m., and the seminar takes place from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. with lunch provided. There is no cost for this family/professional event. This seminar is sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association, Heartland Hospice, and Aging and In-Home Services.
